Inspirational/Instructional Street Photography Video by Spyros Papaspyropoulos

As far as Street Photography Inspiration and Ideas go, this half-hour long video does a pretty great job.  The video is by Spyros Papaspyropoulos, one of the founders StreetHunters.net (another Street Photography blog).  The video covers everything composition to technique.

My Take Away

The photographer in the video gives some great examples of using architecture and shapes to compose interesting Street Photography images, I especially like the port hole’s in the subway system.  Watch for the use of reflections as well, there are a few different shots he takes that capture subjects reflections as opposed to a straight on shot of the subject.

Throughout the video Spyros talks about his thought process and walks you through each shot after which the shot is posted in the video so you can see what it looks like after processing (his vision).  The technique he shows and talks about, waiting for the Decisive moment, using light, and going to where the people are, is great advice.

If you’re looking for some inspiration to pick up your camera and go shoot some Street Photography then I’d recommend watching this video from start to finish.  At the very least you’ll pick up some interesting ideas.  I could turn the “reflections” technique into an entire photo project.
